King's Chapel is an historic monument and a living congregation. We blend old and new – a church founded in 1686, and a community of people open and searching, still learning how God can be more real and understandable to each of us in our daily lives. The King’s Chapel Communications Manager is the principal marketing official of King’s Chapel, a community of Christian faith; the King’s Chapel Freedom Trail Program which sees over 300K visitors yearly; and the King’s Chapel Music Concerts.
The incumbent will report to the Chief of Staff and have a dotted line responsibility to the Executive Team. This is a full time, benefited position.
Responsibilities - Communications The incumbent will control and create all communications including strategic communications, and social, paid and earned media and marketing.
Produce and manage the implementation of a Marketing and Communications Plan with input from the Executive Team
Coordinate outreach to media through press releases, local calendars, and social media
Create, curate and manage the production of content (written, photos, video, etc.) in ongoing communication vehicles, including the weekly e-news Between Sundays, the KC website, the weekly worship orders of service, signage, social media, and event invitations.
Create clear, consistent messages to the church members and to external constituencies
Coordinate with volunteers to create materials including letters, invitations, posters and other materials as needed
Ensure there is a consistent visual and communicated brand throughout all materials
Regularly monitor and evaluate success of different modes of communication, and implement needed changes.
B.A. or equivalent work experience in communications, marketing or related field.
High aptitude for visual design, graphic arts, photography, and using social and multimedia communications to advance our mission.
Outstanding communications skills, with ability to market to a variety of audiences
Superb organization skills, with ability to create efficient systems for regularly repeated programming.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
High proficiency with social media and commitment to keep current with knowledge and understanding
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
Work may require occasional evening and weekend work for special services or events.
Minimum 2 years professional experience preferred.
