Director of Administration
and Finance

King’s Chapel
Job Description
Director of Administration and Finance

King’s Chapel in Boston is seeking a full-time, experienced Director of Administration and Finance to oversee and manage the administrative and financial life of this active congregation. King's Chapel is an historic monument and a living congregation. We blend old and new – a church founded in 1686, and a community of people open and searching, still learning how God can be more real and understandable to each of us in our daily lives. We have weekly worship services in two locations, unique music programs, and are located on the historic Freedom Trail.

Position Summary
As a prominent face of King’s Chapel for members and the public, the Director provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere while serving as the key professional managing and overseeing daily operations. In that capacity, the Director ensures the smooth and efficient functioning of the administrative office of King’s Chapel, directs the church’s day-to-day finances, and supervises 4-6 staff, including the Sexton and the Director of the Visitor Program.

The Director provides executive support to the Senior Minister, and some office support to the Assistant Minister, Wardens, Treasurer, and Parish Council. In addition, the Director of Aministration and Finance leads and oversees all internal finance, accounting, and payroll activities for the Church, and oversees the upkeep and maintenance of the church’s buildings.
