Experience King's Chapel - Guided Crypt and Sanctuary Tours

Picture
Guided by our team of knowledgeable and passionate Historic Site Educators,  tours lead visitors through multiple levels of this National Historic Landmark along Boston's Freedom Trail, and through over 330 years of Boston history, through the lens of King's Chapel and its historic members.

BELL AND BONES TOUR
Over the course of this 45-minute tour, visitors will explore the ground level, crypt, and galleries of the beautifully preserved 1754 building, gaining a fuller understanding of King's Chapel's significance in Boston's historic landscape. From its founding in 1686 as New England's first Church of England, to the impact of slavery and the colonial slave trade on Boston's growth, to weathering the American Revolution, to a theological revolution within the church in the 1780s, there is interesting and powerful history to explore on a visit to King's Chapel.  Its crypt also offers a unique look at colonial death and burial practices, as one of New England's only surviving church crypts.
EXPRESS CRYPT TOUR
Perfect for people on a time crunch or looking for a quick visit, this 20 minute tour will explore the ground level and crypt. Visitors will learn about King's Chapel's history and place in Boston politics, religion, and burial practices.
