May Hours During May 2026, King’s Chapel is open to the public for General Admission and guidedtours on Mondays, Wednesdays-Saturdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Closed on Tuesdays and Sundays, and on Saturday, May 9th. Tickets for tours and entry are available at the church, no reservations are necessary.
King's Chapel is an active church and normal hours may change to accommodate certain events and services. Please check our Instagram @kingschapel1686 for most current hours.
General Admission
General Admission is $5 per person and includes self-guided exploration of the church's main level and informal talks offered by our team of Historic Site Educators.
Admission directly supports the preservation and maintenance of our historic building, as well as the History Program in offering meaningful educational programs and tours.
Guided Tours
Discover over 330 years of history at King's Chapel on a 20 or 45 minute guided tour. Visitors will experience the Chapel from new perspectives, as they explore spaces only accessible through a guided tour, such as the crypt, north gallery, and bell tower, which contains one of the few remaining Revere bells in the city. Learn what makes this building important, as well as where King’s Chapel, its members, and its unique faith traditions fit into both Boston's Revolutionary history and the wider history of America.
Tour Schedule Bell and Bones Tours & Journeying Through Freedom at 250 Tours (45-55 minutes) are typically offered at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm
Express Crypt Tours & Express Gallery Tours (20-25 minutes) are typically offered at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm
Tickets are available in person. Reservations and advance tickets are not necessary.

Journeying Through Freedom at 250 Tour Pricing: $15 (adult), $12 (student, senior (65+), WIC, EBT Cardholders), Free (Children under 6) Prices include Historic Site Entry ($5) Explore the church’s expansive 340 years of history, while considering the theme of “freedom” and the chapel’s role in Boston’s three major revolutions: the American Revolution, Abolitionist movement, and Suffrage movement. If you are a lover of history, this is the tour for you!
Express Crypt Tour Pricing: $10 (adult), $7 (student, senior (65+), WIC, EBT Cardholders), Free (Children under 6) Prices include Historic Site Entry ($5) Explore the only guided tour in Boston of one of two remaining colonial era crypts. You will explore the crypt, its historic use, and burial rites in colonial America into the 19th century.
Express Gallery Tour Pricing: $10 (adult), $7 (student, senior (65+), WIC, EBT Cardholders), Free (Children under 6) Prices include Historic Site Entry ($5) Explore the North Gallery and learn about the lives of free and enslaved people who worshipped from this space. You will learn about the church’s connection to the 219+ enslaved individuals connected to the church either through enslavement by a church parishioner or minister, burial, marriage, or baptism.
Getting Here King’s Chapel is located at the intersection of School and Tremont Streets in the heart of Downtown Boston.

We are easily accessible via public transportation. The church is an approximately 3-minute walk from the Park Street MBTA station on Boston Common and the Government Center T Station. Both the Green Line and Red Line trains stop at Park Street. The Green Line and Blue Line stop at Government Center.

Additional Policies
We invite you to take non-flash photography within the chapel.
Please avoid bringing open food or drinks into the building. The chapel vestibule has a designated table for these items during your visit into the Sanctuary.
In addition to our COVID-specific policies, by entering the chapel, visitors agree to comply with our Code of Conduct. Failure to comply with our policies may result in ejection from the premises.
