News from the Music Committee It seems a very long time since last February 23 when Heinrich gave his beautiful Sonata concert. It wasn’t long after that the COVID-19 shutdown began and live music became impossible. With great sadness, we had to cancel the last concert of our 2019-2020 Season, George Frideric Handel’s ode "Alexander’s Feast."
In this uncertain time we are alive and well but in “wait and see” mode as to planning our 2020-2021 Season. We hope to be able to announce a chamber music concert or an organ recital some time this fall. Because we are a relatively small and nimble organization, we should be able to put together a concert on shorter notice than larger groups can. And if all goes well, we’ll assuage last Season’s disappointment by presenting Alexander’s Feast in March 2021. Suzette Schochet has generously offered to fund the concert again this year and we are most grateful. While we wait for live music to return, we invite you to explore some of our virtual offerings, which you can access through our new Music from Home webpage or directly through our YouTube channel. You can also listen to Heinrich’s recent fabulous recital on the great organ in Methuen. This one is a Must Hear. Please stay tuned; we look forward to sharing health-giving live music before very long. Comments are closed.
