Get to Know the Community Action Committee
The King’s Chapel Community Action Committee, or CAC, was established in 2012 to support carefully selected community organizations with volunteer time, expertise, and money. CAC also assists our partner organizations through projects and programs led by King’s Chapel members. The goal of the CAC is to deepen our relationship with our partner organizations by using funds from earmarked investments and by increasing the involvement of members to support our partners. We hope to establish more meaningful ways the members of King’s Chapel can be of service to our wider community.

common cathedral (Ecclesia Ministries, Inc.) is an outdoor congregation, housed and un-housed, sharing God’s love through community, pastoral care, creative expression, and worship on Boston Common. common cathedral serves as an important community for people experiencing homelessness, and for faith communities who want to be in supportive relationship with un-housed individuals and their friends. |
Louis D. Brown Peace Institute
The Louis D. Brown Peace Institute (LDBPI) serves as an integral partner to the City of Boston and other cities across the country in transforming society’s response to homicide. They teach young people the value of peace, focus on the assets of community and support Survivors of Homicide Victims. Each May, they host a Mother's Day Walk for Peace to raise money and celebrate of our potential to create more peaceful communities. |
Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry
Located at First Church in Roxbury, the Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry (UUUM) provides ministry-at-large to disadvantaged youth and families in Boston, and offers people the opportunity for direct engagement with those struggling for fair and decent lives. Their Roxbury Youth Programs (RYP) serves high school aged youth during the school year with academic and enrichment programming. |

Help make Sandwiches for our Unhoused Neighbors
CAC is looking for volunteers to make sandwiches that will be given to our unhoused neighbors following an outdoor service led by common cathedral. Contact Carol ([email protected]) if you're interested in helping us make sandwiches. |

Attend a common cathedral Outdoor Worship Service
Share spiritual food with common cathedral in their outdoor worship service on Boston Common. It is always an experience beyond words to be part of this congregation as people from all different backgrounds come together to sing, pray, and share fellowship.
