2024 Stewardship Campaign
At King’s Chapel, the work of building our beloved community is continual and ever evolving.
This year, we welcome your participation in our Memorial Project in addition to your regular gift to the 2024 Stewardship Campaign.
The King’s Chapel Memorial to Enslaved Persons, an ambitious effort we initiated some seven years ago, is now well underway! We are humbled by the response we have received to date from individuals - both members and friends – even without a formal appeal, and from foundations including the Unitarian Universalist Funding Program and Lilly Endowment Inc.
Thank you to those who have already contributed. Now, after a great deal of discernment, the project will move forward with phase one, the creation of the bronze sculpture to be situated just outside the church, along the Freedom Trail. With your support Harmonia Rosales, the artist, will begin creating the sculpture with installation in the courtyard anticipated next spring. We invite you to help honor the men, women and children enslaved during King’s Chapel’s history, and to take an important step forward together as a congregation. With your help, we can get there!
At the same time, we also rely on your continued support of our annual budget through Stewardship. The King’s Chapel community, led by our intrepid team of caring clergy and staff, provides an abundant range of activities from our worship services to our music and history programs, religious education for all ages, community action programs and festive holiday celebrations. All are welcome to take part in the life of our congregation, for reflection, spiritual growth and friendship. Your financial support for Stewardship is essential in helping to sustain the church we all love by maintaining the quality of our programs, services and community engagement. Your support is especially important at this time of rising costs and a testament to the enduring strength of our congregation.
